The Castle

For hundreds and thousands of years, two families have warred over what little territory there is in the Castle. Surrounded by Demons and Dead, trapped with their greatest enemies, there is no peace in sight.

The Castle itself is a massive expanse, alone, it seems, in a wasteland with no other people, animals, or plants - only the Demons and the Dead.

For inspiration use the episode The Doctor's Daughter from Dr Who, the Castle Salamander from Salamander, and the huge city from the Otherland books. Also Megacity One and the Zone from Obsidian.

Some agreements have been made: they can't afford to lose more humans to petty squabbles, so deadly weapons are outlawed except for use against those outside the Castle. This creates a strange dichotomy wherein gigantic, ridiculously dangerous weapons are everywhere, and nobody can use them against their bitter enemies. Instead, people use saps, coshes, and blackjacks; stun-guns, tasers, and tranquilizers; knotted ropes and chloroform rags.
